And the Winner is..... Mr Brendan Rowney

Over the summer, and while people were signing up to MBB for the 2011 season, we decided to run a different kind of promo com- petition. Usually, we give away some sweet prizes at the end of the year. This time, how- ever, we wanted someone to start the year with a new board to ride.
The idea was simple - anyone who signed up to MBB could send us a pic or vid of them on a wave, proof of the best ride that they’ve had. The committee would check out the pics, and choose one lucky winner to walk away with the loot.
We had some pretty sick shots entered - even the committee members were entering themselves, trying to snare the sweet prize pack.
However, just a few days before the com- petition closed we were sent these shots of Brendan Rowney surfing some rather large aquatic lumps.
I can’t say exactly where the shots were taken, but for the sake of naming somewhere, oh, lets just say Mascot. Why not.

The shot on the right got him the prize, but just take a look at the other crazy waves that didn’t make the cut! They set a pretty high standard. Brendo is paddling into some pretty silly slabs at the moment, and getting towed into anything that requires more than a set of fins to get into.
